The Training Room is located up a single set of steps. If you have members of your group who are unable to access this space please let us know and we can arrange for your training to take place downstairs. The area downstairs however is limited to 12 people per group although you could have two groups if you used both ends of the unit. There is disabled access using the rear doors of the building as there is a step at the front entrance.
The new Training Room at The Omnibus Project opened in September 2020 and can cater for groups of up to 16 people depending on the room layout - please see photos above for some layout suggestions.
Equipment provided:
The Training Room has a Smartboard which can be accessed using a laptop provided by The Omnibus Project or your own device. Next to the Smartboard a magnetic whiteboard can be used for undertaking interactive sessions or just for making notes. Tea and Coffee facilities are availble from the Kitchen area downstairs (included in the cost of hire) as well as access to a disabled toilet.
Cost of Booking:
This room may be booked for training or meetings at a cost of £20 per hour. Payment must be made in full at least 2 weeks before the session is due to take place and is non-refundable unless cancelled at least two weeks before needed. Please ask about the possibility of postponing / rescheduling if needed if you think you may need to cancel an event or meeting
PLEASE NOTE: There is a also a additional booking deposit of £50 which will be refunded if the room and facilities are left in a clean and usable state. If the rooms are not left in the same state as before the booking (eg tidy and clean) and cannot be rented to another user then this deposit will be kept.

Cost of Makaton courses will vary according to whether we provide the venue at The Omnibus Project HQ (Cost 1) or whether training is delivered at your venue which will reduce the cost per person (Cost 2). NB: External Makaton courses can only be delivered for a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 20 people

Makaton Revised Training – Level 1 - Level

The Makaton Charity have now combined the two previous training pathways for
professionals and parents/carers into one route to make Makaton training more streamlined and easier to access. Levels 1 and 2 now combine and replace the Foundation and Beginner Parent Workshops
whilst Levels 3 and 4 combine and replace the Enhancement and Follow Up Workshops.
This flexible and blended approach provides an interactive and hands-on
workshop. By combining the two pathways Makaton training has been made more streamlined which provides a more accessible and inclusive learning environment. The workshops are now aimed at both
professionals and parents/carers which means that all Makaton users can share a wide range of personal experiences, from using Makaton within the family to school, work and everyday
life.
